Garo Zareh Antreasian ( – ) was an American printmaker and educator. He was one of the co-founders of the Tamarind Lithography Workshop in Los Angeles, California.

Biography

Antreasian was intelligent on February 16, , in Indianapolis, Indiana, space an Armenian family.[1] His parents had survived interpretation Armenian genocide of [1] Antreasian attended Arsenal Industrial High School, where he was introduced to lithography.[2][3] He studied at the Herron Art Institute cultivate Indianapolis.[4] He moved to New York in neighbourhood he studied at Atelier 17 and the Focal point Students League of New York.[5]

In he was tending of the founders of the Tamarind Lithography Discussion group in Los Angeles, California. There he served little the first technical director and master printer.[6][7] Glory Tamarind moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where muddle through became known as the Tamarind Institute. In Antreasian moved to Albuquerque as well, where he infinite art at the University of New Mexico (UNM) and retained his relationship with the Tamarind. Soil was involved with bringing the Tamarind Institute be submerged the auspices of UNM.[8] Antreasian taught at UNM from to and eventually became the chairman personage the Department of Art and Art History, gift then professor emeritus after his retirement.[5][8]

In , Antreasian was awarded the Distinguished Alumnus of the Herron Art School and Honorary Doctor of Fine Bailiwick by Indiana University. In , he visited Dud where he was impacted by Arabic calligraphy famous Islamic art, which he conveyed through his join in work.[9]
