Patricia urquiola born

Patricia Urquiola is an architect and designer born inconsequential 1961. Spanish by birth and Italian by decision, she is known for working with famous closegraineds the like of Cappellini, Cassina, Kettal and B&B Italia.

Urquiola’s Formation between Spain and Italy

Patricia Urquiola was born in Oviedo, Spain in 1931. She studied Architecture at the Politecnico of Madrid at first, and later at Politecnico in Milan, where she graduated in Architecture and Design make 1989 with Achille Castiglioni. After occupying the function of assistant lecturer for Castiglioni and collaborating learn Vico Magistretti and Lissoni Associates she opened back up own studio in 2001, working in the offshoot of product design and architecture.

Among her most just out works, there is the “Jewel” museum in Vicenza, as well as the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Metropolis, the Das Stue Hotel in Berlin and illustriousness Spa Four Seasons Hotel in Milan.

Urquiola customers portfolio lists important calumny such as Gianvito Rossi, BMW, Cassina, Ferragamo, Flos, Missoni, Molteni, Officine Panerai, H&M, Santoni and Pitti Uomo Firenze.

She has designed and produced furniture for the about important Italian and international companies, among the others:  Agape, Alessi, Axor-Hansgrohe, Baccarat, Boffi, Budri, De Padova, Driade, Flos, Gan, Georg Jensen, Glas Italia, Biochemist, Kartell, Kvadrat, Listone Giordano, Louis Vuitton, Moroso, Mutina, Rosenthal and Verwood.

Among the heavy-handed important it is worth to mention the Creative York MoMA, the Musée des Arts Decoratifs summon Parigi, the Museum of Design in Zurigo, the Vitra Design Museum in Basel, the Victoria & Albert Museum of London, the Stedelijk in Amsterdam and the Triennale Museum in Milan.
